Emociones, inmigración y familia en la Argentina de fines del siglo XIX

Basado en registros judiciales de delitos de bigamia y adulterio, este trabajo analiza la relación entre movilidad espacial y emociones proponiendo abordar la migración transatlántica no sólo como la separación temporal de la familia y como un proyecto de reunificación familiar, sino como una experiencia marcada por el olvido del pasado, la ruptura de los lazos afectivos, el abandono, la traición y la infidelidad. Sin negar la relevancia del amor, el afecto, el extrañamiento y el anhelo de los seres queridos, aquí se argumenta que la distancia también dañaba los vínculos y que el paso del tiempo consumía las energías necesarias para alimentar la expectativa del retorno o del reencuentro. En esta nueva anatomía de las relaciones, emergían la angustia, el rencor, la ira y el dolor. Paradójicamente, estas emociones también podían inducir a la migración y provocar el reencuentro.
