Comunidades anfitrionas frente al desarrollo turístico. Un estudio comparativo entre San Martín de los Andes (Patagonia argentina) y Toledo (España)

Resumen

El expansivo avance contemporáneo del turismo ha dado lugar a presiones cada vez más evidentes sobre los residentes, que son claves para lograr la sostenibilidad en todos los destinos turísticos. El objetivo principal de este artículo es comparar las percepciones de dos comunidades anfitrionas en lugares geográficos separados y tipos de destinos distintos. Se han escogido los significativos casos de San Martín de los Andes, en el norte de la Patagonia argentina, destino de turismo natural, y de Toledo en España, ciudad histórica y destino turístico cultural. La metodología empleada ha sido un análisis a través de un cuestionario. Los resultados demuestran que las dos comunidades tienen una percepción positiva del desarrollo de la actividad turística con una gran coincidencia en sus opiniones, aunque se detectan problemas particulares. El artículo resulta de interés para los gestores y planificadores públicos del turismo.
