Abstract

This paper intents to investigate a little worked aspect which is about the ideas and proposals refered to unión autonomy and democratization - understood as the application of mechanisms to broaden rights and representation of members- sustained by radicalism and confront them with those held by other actors, posing as a hypothesis the absence of a draft agreement within the party about these themes and, instead, the development of contradictory positions about representation and union autonomy. That situation would have limited the possibilities of generating a debate with other sectors which would provide substantial changes; these limitations became apparent in the final reimplantation of traditional labor relations model. Thus, I want to clarify what was the scope of its proposals for regulating labor relations, the agenda items and the trajectory of them, concentrating in particular on analyzing how to understand the representation and union autonomy. I believe that this conflict was one of the key political contests during democratic reconstruction without it was dominated by substantive disagreement in the opponents positions, so the resulting normalization was consequence of a negotiation where both sides conceded each other without significantly affect, however, their positions.
