República y ciudadanía en la Edad Moderna: Brescia en el Estado Veneciano

Abstract

As the cityscape showed representations of the urban phenomenon in its complexity but with the main patterns, the urban society also expected some specific features to every member of the city community (civitas) to be allowed to take part in citizenship. By analysing the arguments and instruments to get rights of citizenship is possible to know about the mechanism of social integration and exclusion in the cities. This is what this article deals with, at studying the case of the city of Brescia within the wider and peculiar political structure of the Venetian State.
