Abstract

By the end of XVIIIth century new conflícts were lived on Santa Fe borderlands. The indigenous uprisings they were not problem. The natives who lived in towns, ex jesuits missions, were attacked by others under the shelter of the colonial authorities of Santa Fe. Miguel Gerónimo Benavídez a cacique abipón hanned exposed the situation before the Virrey under the form of a Memorial in agreement with the learned practice of sorne other caciques of the area of the Great Chaco. By means of the ana!ysis of this document we expose the frarnework of the fonns of re]ation between the natives and the Hispanic-Creoles of a legal reclamation by robberies of cattles, as well as the projects that sorne natives wanted to carry out.
