Abstract

The aim of thís article is to inquire about the logic in the construction of the holiness inside the Roman Catholicism. The universe of our analysis cornprises the candidates to holiness presented by the Argentine Catholic Church during the 20th century and the beginnings of the 21st. The axis of the analysis is the construction ofthe biography ofthe Saint. And, ifthe biography had always a prominent place in the processes of canonization, present Vatican nonns emphasize its roll. Starting from a conception of holiness where the body occupies a central place, biographic account continues rnarking the transformation of candidate to holiness in a sacrificial victim. Holiness implicates the irnmolation of a human being to appease to a ferocious and tyrannical Father and the convocation to the good andjust Father that protect and console.
