Abstract

From a microhistorical approach, there is analyzed thc conformation of social and political miro-networks in the city of Guatemala (around the archbishop), and in El Salvador (around José M. Delgado), that waged war without trucc to rcach their respective political objectivcs, that waged war opposed to the creation o fa Federation in Central America. Reviewing the publicaction of the "Creole groups", it takes int.o aceount the historieal events -identifying the political and social alliances·making emphasis in the conscquences that the rupture with the "mother country" had in the Kingdom of Guatemala. This rupture implied the difficult task ofthinking a new political system that considers the catholicism and that left behind the monarchy. This inherited force ofthe Catholic Church-State relation explains why a religious question could end quickly at a political crisis.
