Vertientes y vetas de la historia ambiental: una nota metodológica y epistemológica

Abstract

The environment has been foryears the concept that has come to renew the social studies, being historians the last ones in incorporate it in its investigations and their profesional practice. The history of the environment concept -an epistemologic history that is product of the Latin American environmental social movement-. will have to respond to the question on environmental history. The social construction of the environmental complexity is the "complexizalion" of the reality. the knowledge, the production, the rationalilics. the time and the identities. and its hermeneutics. Environmental history passes from the coevolution of the nature and the culture, through the codetermination of cultural demographic, ecological, economic processes. to occupy at thc present time a field where differentiated stratcgics of nature's appropriation are confronted. and where identities in the reconfiguration of world-wide geo-political-economic order are reaffirmed.
