The objective of this paper is to analyze the development process in Argentina during the second half of the XX century taking into account the economic and regional policies as well as the exploitation of natural environment. Thus, it will be necessary to resort to new theories that focalize the contradictions among capital, work and nature intending to consider the historical relationships among society, region and development.
