Abstract

The argentine marine comercial fishing was born in Mar del Plata. when incorporating the Atlantic coast to the Argentine Republic in the last decades of the 19th century, motorised by the demand of the people that enjoyed the tourist village and. later. for the market of the city of Buenos Aires. But this activity had to wait several decades until giving a qualitative jump as economic activity of magnitude. In the years 1940.the World Ward II and the development of the substitute industrialisation. were the impulses of a transformation that motivated the increment of the capture volumes. We analyse this process from the perspective of the extraction and first sale of the captures.
