Abstract

The studies of the many ways of rioplatense peasant population control, have pointed the importance of the military exigencies. The high amount of legal dispositions. the estructural conditions of the production of the country, with a frontier that was moving constantly, joined to the exigencies that appeared with the wars of independence and civil ones. have complicated the question much more. In this ways, peasant were the key element that conduced the continuity of war and the advance of the frontier.
