.Abstract
This paper deals with Spanish patriotism in Río de la Plata at the end of the XIX century and the beginning of XX century, exploring the Patria as a narration and the Nación as a symbol that activates politic mobilisation, as a result of the evocation that Spanish emigrants did of Spain by the other side of the Atlantic Sea, where they elaborated a narrative process of collective identity, nationalism, that had two addressees: the community of exiled people and the receiving society.
