El presente trabajo analiza el concepto de educar para el desarrollo sostenible desde la perspectiva de la promoción que realizan los organismos internacionales sobre el mismo. La investigación expone el origen y desarrollo del concepto de sostenibilidad aplicado a la educación. El objetivo es mostrar cómo los diferentes organismos internacionales han promovido la educación para el desarrollo sostenible focalizando la temática al ámbito de las universidades. La metodología que se utiliza para el análisis es cualitativa, teoría fundamentada Los resultados muestran que el concepto de educar para el desarrollo sostenible es incipiente en algunas universidades, esto pone de manifiesto que a pesar de los esfuerzos realizados por los diferentes organismos internacionales es necesario promover este concepto.
Abstract
This paper analyzes the concept of educating for sustainable development from the perspective of promotion carried out by how international organizations promoteon it. The research exposes the origin and development of the concept of sustainability applied to education. The objective is to show how different international organizations have promoted education for sustainable development, with a focusing the theme on the field of universities. The methodology used for the analysis is qualitative, grounded theory. The results show that the concept of educating for sustainable development is incipient in some universities, this which shows that, despite the efforts made by different international organizations, it is necessary to promote this conceptthe concept needs further promotion.
