Abstract

The “sugar boom” that occurred in the late nineteenth century in Tucumán set up eminently male labor and hierarchized universes. The "June revolution" of 1943 and Peronism broke into this interwoven labor and social inequalities moving them from their foundations and modelling the dynamics of trade unionism. In this sense, the implications of differentiated unionization of workers and employees, the stamp of the qualification in the process of organizing and how the experiences associated with masculinity transformed the experience of the working class are central themes of the present article. We understand that the case of the sugar mills is a trigger to reflect how between 1944 and 1949 issues such as class, gender and profession acquired new meanings and gravitated in syndicalism emerging dynamics.
