Tierra, trabajo y producción. Las unidades productivas de propiedad institucional en la provincia de Córdoba, 1800-1870

Abstract

In this work we focus our observation on aproduction unit ofthe Punilla vailey, in Córdoba countryside, with the aim of studying the landas a production and labor factor. We analyze the different exploitation instances, from the moment it was granted at the end of the 16th century, then sold to different businessmen during the 17th and 18th ccnturies, transformed into a lega chaplaincy at thc beginning of the 19th century and then turned into a convent property until it finally, returns lo private hands in the middle of the 19th century. From a first perspective, we try to approach to the logic of the business behavior of the different owners. In a second sight, we aim at widening our point of view towards the context in which the administrators operated, the circumstances that conditioncd them andas far as it is possible, the role that the unit played in the region.
