The process of women's and feminist movements resistance movements in Brazil's social context is continuous. Historical struggles for rights and women's emancipation intensified from the 1970s and 1980s; women advanced their actions in publicizing the phenomenon of violence against women, confined to the private space on a motto of patriarchal relationship of gender, the discussion of these socio-political movements turned to the accountability of the Brazilian State in implementing public policies buoyed by the asymmetry of the shaft gender. These struggles that resist and persist today, looking to consolidate the emancipation of women socio-cultural stereotypes that historically demarcate their "places" in the oppression threshold and male subordinate while determine the violation of human rights through gender-based violence that prevents its visibility and status of political subject, autonomous in their decisions and choices. Authoritative in analyzing the literature, documentary and empirical research project with rural women workers of Governador Mangabeira-BA on Social Representations of Gender Violence and its relationship to the materialization of Law 11.340 / 2006, this article proposes to expand theoretical discussions of public policy, women and gender violence in Bahia rural contexts.
